Peanut and chocolate cookies


  • 125g butter
  • 125g sugar
  • 75g brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ jar crunchy peanut butter
  • 220g plain flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 2 large snicker bars, cut into chunks


Start this recipe by preheating the oven to 180`c. Cream the butter, sugar and brown sugar together until light and fluffy in a medium bowl. Add in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla essence. Gently stir in the peanut butter till you have a creamy consistency (do not over beat at this stage). Incorporate the remaining dry ingredients till you end up with a very soft dough-like mixture. Take a tablespoon of the dough and flatten in the palm of hand. . Place a piece of the chocolate bar in the center and form into a ball. Repeat the process with the remaining dough. Place the cookies on baking sheets covered with non-stick paper, making sure that the are well spaced apart. Bake the cookies in the hot oven for 10-12 minutes. Remove the baking sheets from the oven from oven and place on a wire rack to cool. Cookies will harden when cold but will still remain very chewy.
