Cook the penne according to the instructions on the packet but leave them slightly undercooked. Meanwhile, grease a baking pan with butter. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot. Mix in the butter and season. Add the gammon and cheese and mix well. Mix together the mustard and cream and add to the pasta. Mix, place the pasta in the dish and level the top. Bake in a moderate to slightly hot oven 170`c for 45 minutes. Bring out of the oven, give the pasta a good mix and return it to the oven. Bake for a further 20 minutes.
